[...] Former de facto Law Minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim has been appointed to the Malaysia Think Tank advisory board.
Commenting on his appointment, Zaid said he was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the organisation.
“These young activists are trailblazers in advocating liberal democracy in Malaysia within the framework provided for by our Federal Constitution and the vision of our founding fathers.
“I will do what I can to help this unique organisation,” he said in a statement.
Zaid, a lawyer by training, resigned in September as both a senator and as minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of legal and judicial reform after the Government arrested a reporter, a blogger and a Member of Parliament under the Internal Security Act earlier this year.[read more]
