[...] KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 16 - Ten days after nomination day, the semi-urban seaside city finally catches the election fever.
Despite the efforts of all the politicians and party workers, the state capital has been cocooned in indifference over the entire by-election affair.
Until last night.
On the night before the eve of polling day, the roads leading into Kuala Terengganu came close to a standstill as party workers for both the Barisan Nasional (BN) and the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) took to the streets pushing off pamplets, calendars and other campaign paraphernalia on motorists.
Multiple ceramah sessions sprouted on the road shoulders, attracting a large crowd, which spilled onto the roads as they hopped from one to another and added to the congestion. [read more]
