KUALA LUMPUR: The family of A. Kugan yesterday denied they had barged into the Serdang Hospital mortuary to view his body on Tuesday and accused the police of lying.
An uncle of the deceased hit out at police and the media over reports that relatives and friends of Kugan had barged into the hospital's mortuary to inspect his body.
The family and their lawyer claimed they were allowed into the mortuary and that at no time at all were they there to create any problems.
Lawyer N. Surendran, who was also questioned by police yesterday on the mortuary incident, said he was shown the the police report lodged by the Serdang Hospital staff.
"The attendant had clearly stated in the report that he opened the door to let the family into the cold room to view Kugan's body.
"Then why are the police still alleging that the family forced their way in?" [read more]
