Family being threatened, V Arumugam quits


Tukar Tiub has confirmed Malaysiakini's suspicision that PKR's V Arumugam has decided to relinquish his state assembly seat of Bukit Selambau following personal and family threats by the Barisan Nasional camp.

A by-election will be held in the next 60 days.

This has confirmed suspicions by certain quarters, that Barisan Nasional, led by Big Mama Najib intends to regain the state with crossovers, trying to repeat their pirate success in Perak. Currently in Kedah, the Pakatan Rakyat has 21 of 37 state seats.

In Perak, Najib's proxies including Hamzah Zainuddin and Kenneth Eswaran are believed to be responsible on offering monies to the "renegade three" to crossover to Barisan Nasional. [read more]
