Kuala Kangsar roads closed for swearing-in ceremony tomorrow

KUALA KANGSAR, Feb 9 — Several roads leading to the Istana Iskandariah, Bukit Chandan, will be closed to the public from 8 am tomorrow for the swearing-in of the Perak state executive councillors.

Perak police chief Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said the roads would be re-opened after the ceremony ended and the situation deemed to be safe and under control.

He said the affected roads would be from the clock tower roundabout to Istana Iskandariah, Jalan Daeng Sedili and Jalan Tun Razak; from Jalan Raja Chulan to Jalan Tun Razak and from Jalan Kuala Kangsar to the town centre.

“No vehicle or pedestrian will be allowed to be on the affected roads, except vehicles with special stickers and invited guests,” he told a press conference here today.

He said the move would be taken to prevent any untoward incidents. — Bernama
