IPOH: DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) leaders and representatives from all over the peninsula held a demonstration at the State Secretariat building here yesterday to protest against the formation of the Barisan Nasional state government.
The 300-strong crowd started gathering at 10.30am, holding a large banner with the message "Reject the Fake Government, Dissolve the State Assembly, Return Power to the People" in Malay, Chinese and Tamil.
Perak Dapsy chief Anthony Loke led the protesters in a march around the building but police told them to disperse after they had completed one round.
Loke, however, was allowed to address the crowd for five minutes.
He reaffirmed DAP's support for Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as the menteri besar. - NST
